Pouya and Nadia are just perfect for one another and I was thrilled to have been able to document their wedding day. With the groomsmen all suited and booted and their tasks finally completed a swift drink in the pub opposite Islington Town Hall was definitely in order. A small intimate ceremony with friends and family some of whom had travelled in from Sweden was held in the wonderful main room at the town hall.. Nadia & Pouya had written their own vows and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. A short journey down the road and we arrived at the reception in the heart of London’s Square Mile. The Clerkenwell and Social was an amazing venue with plenty of space to be able to dance and believe me this is something that these two definitely had planned. A funny speech about the bride sneaking out to go for a drink by borrowing her neighbours ladders was a personal highlight…
Simon and Ollie celebrated their Civil Partnership in the beautiful hills of Richmond in Surrey. The venue was the idyllic Petersham hotel which is just a stones throw from where Turner had famously painted many years ago, and naturally provided stunning views of the River Thames which was quite simply a dream to capture!
A small intimate ceremony with very close friends and family was held in the 'River Room’ followed by some drinks upon the roof terrace-made all the more glorious with the September sunshine beating down from above. A delicious wedding breakfast followed by a couple of informal yet heartfelt speeches was all that was needed to get the party started, before guests took a short walk down to the riverbank to board a boat to continue the celebrations on a private river cruise.
As the sun was setting guests enjoyed breathtaking views of Londons’ riverbank and enjoyed taking in the sights of iconic London landmarks including the Shard and the London Eye, and as darkness commenced so did some serious dancing!
Here are a few of my favourites from the day…
So it’s the first of January and it’s out with the old and in with the new-dry January, healthy eating and of course attempting to hit the gym! On a personal level my resolutions include finally learning the guitar properly and getting out in the fresh air on my mountain bike more often-instead of both sitting idly gathering dust in the corner of my living room!
Resolutions aside I’ve taken a moment to look back and reflect on a great year that was 2018....
I was fortunate to work at some truly fantastic venues across the UK including the Savoy Hotel, Asylum Chapel, Clock Barn and even a boat on the Thames to name just a few, and have enjoyed capturing many special moments for some simply brilliant couples. One of my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer is meeting many diverse and inspirational couples and their loved ones, and documenting the many different styles of weddings often with individual themes and varying styles. No two weddings have been the same and it’s truly been a pleasure to help tell the story of your wedding day- I hope you will look back on your galleries and enjoy your photographs for years to come.
To all of my couples already booked in for 2019 I cannot wait to be part of your journey and am looking forward to capturing some everlasting memories for you.
Big thanks to everyone and wishing you all a healthy 2019 filled with love and happiness!
