Marylebone Old Town Hall Wedding Photography
Old Marylebone Town Hall is one of those venues I never tire of. I've photographed weddings here across many years now, and every time I walk through those doors I feel the same thing — this place is made for great photography. The light, the architecture, the sheer drama of it all. If you're getting married here, you're in for something special.
Old Marylebone Town Hall
Old Marylebone Town Hall sits at the southern end of Marylebone Road, one of the most recognisable streets in London. The building dates to 1914 and is a striking example of Edwardian Greco-Roman classicism — imposing fluted columns, a magnificent colonnaded tower, and a facade that stops you in your tracks. It was officially opened in 1920 by Prince Albert himself, and has been hosting weddings ever since.
Over the years Marylebone Town Hall has hosted some of the most famous weddings in British history. Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach, Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit, Sean Bean and Georgina Sutcliffe, Cilla Black and Bobby Willis — the list of iconic couples who've stood beneath these ceilings is remarkable. That history adds something intangible to every wedding here; a sense that you're part of something much larger than a single day.
The Ceremony Rooms
Marylebone has several ceremony rooms to suit different wedding sizes and atmospheres. The Westminster Room is the main ceremony space — tall windows flood it with natural light, making it one of the most beautifully lit rooms I photograph in anywhere in London. The light in there on a clear morning is genuinely extraordinary.
For smaller, more intimate ceremonies, the Knightsbridge, Pimlico, and Soho rooms offer a cosier setting without sacrificing the building's grandeur. Some of my favourite images have come from the smaller rooms — there's an immediacy and closeness that's harder to achieve in a larger space. Whatever room you book, the building's bones make for incredible photographs.

"An absolutely fantastic wedding photographer. We hired Oliver to take the wedding photos on the day of our registry office wedding in London and they look incredible. He also did a pre-shoot with us which was really useful. Definitely recommend!!"

Say HelloWhat Makes Marylebone Special to Photograph
As a photographer, Marylebone Town Hall gives you an enormous amount to work with. The exterior — those grand stone steps, the columns, the sweeping facade — makes for some of the most dramatic confetti photographs of any venue in London. The combination of scale and intimacy in a single frame is rare.
Inside, the curved architecture provides natural framing for portraits that feels effortless. The corridors have a texture and depth that you simply can't replicate in a modern building — painted walls, ornate ceilings, old wood. These details make documentary-style images feel genuinely historic. I always leave Marylebone with images I'm proud of.
More From Marylebone
A small selection from across the weddings I've photographed here — each day its own story, each couple entirely themselves. This is why I love documentary wedding photography: no two days look the same, but the emotion running through all of them is the same. Real joy. Real love.
