Hi I’m Oliver, I am a London wedding photographer and I absolutely love Photography, I also love people and most importantly I adore people who worship each other and cannot wait to celebrate getting married.
What is so special about being a wedding photographer in London is having the ability to work in a city stooped in history. From the classic architecture to the modern and more urban areas of London I have a passion for creating natural and timeless photographs. Some of my very own fondest memories have been in my younger years on day trips up to London to go on H.M.S Belfast, visit the Tower of London or go to London Zoo and if I was lucky a McDonalds on the train ride home.
I decided to start photographing weddings in 2019 after starting my career in photography mainly focusing on architecture, interiors and the good old fashioned corporate hand shake moment. My style of wedding photography is aimed at capturing natural and beautiful moments by using the best natural light available which is often described as documentary or reportage. I aim to tell your wedding day as a story and hopefully make the photographs jump off the page at you.
London is such a vibrant, creative and urban city with such energy and flair and I try and incorporate these elements when photographing your wedding day. Its not just always about standing next to a London landmark but also about knowing the local areas and how the light will fall at specific times of day.

Photographing Weddings in London
I was born in London and spent the majority of my life living here and there is just so much I love about this fabulous city. Having grown up in Chiswick and Ealing until my mid twenties I made the bold decision to move further west and spent a few years living in the picturesque area near Richmond Park. I used to cycle around the park and also take in a boat tour occasionally at the weekends travelling up the river Thames stopping off at places like Twickenham and Kingston up to Hampton Court. I then moved further into the city and lived near the vibrant area of Notting Hill and Maida Vale, I was so close to the BBC studios I used to see all the musicians turning up. Know you might find yourself asking what does this all have to do with photographing a wedding in London and the honest answer is my knowledge for this incredible city.
Popular London Wedding Venues
I simply love being a wedding photographer in London, it allows me to work with such unique and diverse couples at some of the most iconic and alternative weddings too. What makes these ceremonies so individual is the couples themselves and the venues that they select to hold their nuptials at, which the capital is definitely not short of. A few of my personal favourite London Wedding venues are no other then The Ned Hotel near Bank Underground station, the legendary Old Marylebone Town Hall and its stunning architecture and imposing columns, Brunswick House close to Vauxhall Station and on the banks of the rover Thames and finally the exclusive 200 year old Asylum Chapel in Peckham. However no matter which wedding venue you choose in London you will always find timeless and natural locations to take beautiful photographs.
London Photography Hotspots
Whenever I have friends come to visit in London especially if they are photographers I can always ensure that we will do a lot of walking with our cameras and drinking some of the best coffee on order. There are some obvious iconic photography locations to mention such as Tower Bridge, Covent Garden, Notting Hill, Leadenhall Market and the picturesque streets of Fitzrovia. However I am often searching to find an alternative look and feel in my photographs and often end up straying towards Brick Lane, Spitalfields and more unseen London locations. One spot in particular an almost hidden gem is Hampstead Pergola, this Edwardian elegant raised stone walkway is located in the northwest corner of Hampstead Heath and is such a romantic spot in London to either get engaged or even celebrate your wedding there. Also being so close to the heath there are all kinds of wildlife to photograph and often you will find photographers out with their telephoto lenses capturing images of some of the 180 species of birds that nest there.

So you have decided to get married in London and are looking at some of the first steps of what to do then allow me to offer some help and advice in what to consider for getting the best photographs from your wedding day. By now you will have drawn up a shortlist of wedding venues perhaps including some of London’s Town Halls, chic London Hotels and unique spots like the RSA and 100 Barrington. However its worth noting that some specific London wedding venues can be extremely dark inside and not have a lot of natural light for instance the Fitzrovia Chapel and Shoreditch Studios. Whilst not a massive factor it is definitely worth considering as light is the single most important aspect in photography and can alter the look and feel of the picture. When trying to calculate how long you need on your wedding day for your photographs dont be afraid to ask me, I have been to a lot more weddings then you and can help you allocate enough time for capturing those beautiful sunset portraits.
